Shawn Fichter

Shawn Fichter is one of Nashville's top drummers. In 1991, at age 20, he made the move to Nashville from Massillon, Ohio. Within a year he landed the drumming chair in Barbara Mandrell's band. He toured the US and performed on several T.V. shows with Barbara for more than 5 years. In 1997, he had the opportunity to audition for MCA recording artist Trisha Yearwood. After Trisha's bandleader received cd's/tapes from over one hundred drummers, twelve were asked to audition. Shawn, being one of the twelve, won the audition. He toured the US and Europe with Trisha for six years. In that time, some of the television shows he performed on include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, A&E's Live by Request, VH1's Hard Rock Live, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The American Music Awards, and many others. Guest performers that joined Trisha on television while Shawn was drumming include Don Henley, Garth Brooks, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Kim Richey. Trisha's band has become one of Nashville's most highly respected bands and is known for the musicality and versatility that Trisha's songs require. Shawn has also been called upon to sub with other artists including country/pop artist Martina McBride and blues artist Lee Roy Parnell. In recent years, Shawn has worked his way into the Nashville studio scene, getting calls not only for country sessions but also for many rock, pop, and contemporary Christian recordings. He is featured on the funk/fusion bass instructional DVD entitled; "Keith Horne Bass Techniques" available at http://www.rowpro.com/ His endorsements include the following companies: GMS drums, http://www.zildjian cymbals/, http://www.Vic Firth sticks, http://www.Remo drumheads, and http://www.Rhythm Tech Percussion Products. Shawn is currently enjoying being a studio musician and spending time in Nashville with his wife Roberta and their son Dylan.
